Heavy Equipment Operator (Various Equipment)
Job Summary:
The Heavy Equipment Operator operates one or more types of construction equipment used in asphalt paving, grading, excavation, and site preparation
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment such as rollers, graders, loaders, excavators, pavers, skid steers, or dozers
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Safely maneuver equipment around personnel and obstacles
- Load, move, and grade materials according to project specifications
- Maintain proper grade, slope, and compaction
- Communicate with foremen and ground crew to coordinate work
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Keep equipment clean and report mechanical issues
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in operating heavy construction equipment
- Understanding of grade, slope, and compaction requirements
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
- Strong safety awareness
Requirements:
- Prior heavy equipment operating experience
- Certification or training preferred ?
CDL Driver
Job Summary:
The CDL Driver operates commercial trucks to transport materials, equipment, and supplies to and from job sites in a safe and timely manner.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Safely operate dump trucks, flatbeds, lowboys, or other commercial vehicles
- Transport materials, equipment, and supplies to job sites
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Secure loads and ensure proper weight distribution
- Maintain accurate delivery and trip records
- Follow DOT regulations and company safety policies
- Communicate with dispatch, foremen, and supervisors
- Keep truck clean and report mechanical issues
Skills & Abilities:
- Safe and defensive driving skills
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- Good time management and communication skills
- Ability to operate various types of trucks
Requirements:
- Valid CDL (Class A or B depending on equipment)
- Clean driving record preferred
- Construction or hauling experience preferred
Water Truck Driver (CDL) /Grading Support
Job Summary:
The Water Truck Driver operates a water truck to control dust, support soil compaction, and assist grading operations. This position also performs general grading and labor support duties on the job site when not actively driving or watering.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate water truck to apply water for dust control, soil conditioning, and compaction support
- Fill, transport, and distribute water to job sites as directed
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
- Monitor water usage and adjust spray patterns and flow as needed
- Coordinate with foremen, graders, rollers, and equipment operators during grading operations
- Assist with grading operations on the ground as needed
- Perform labor duties such as shoveling, raking, spotting equipment, and cleanupHelp check grade, slope, and material placement
- Assist operators and crews with site preparation and finishing work
- Set up and remove traffic control, stakes, or job site materials
- Support compaction and finish grading operations
General Responsibilities:
- Follow all site safety rules, DOT regulations, and company policies
- Maintain daily logs and inspection reports
- Keep truck clean and report mechanical issues
- Work as part of the grading and earthwork crew, not just as a driver
Skills & Abilities:
- Safe commercial driving skills
- Understanding of grading, compaction, and site preparation operations
- Ability to operate pumps, valves, and spray systems
- Willingness to perform physical labor in addition to driving
- Good situational awareness on active construction sites
- Strong safety mindset
Requirements:
- Valid CDL required
- Prior water truck or construction site driving experience preferred
- Grading or earthwork experience a strong plus
- Ability to work long hours and in outdoor conditions
- Ability to perform physical labor as needed
